Artist Bio: A native
Arkansan, Celeste resides in Benton with her husband Randy, a former
resident of Hot Springs. She is employed at Applied Services in
Benton, where she does metal design work, which she greatly enjoys.
Currently, she is enrolled at Pulaski Technical College, in the
computer aided drafting and design program. Rogers is a Certified
Master Florist and was formerly employed at Laurel's of Hot Springs.
She has two grown children, Wendy, a nurse, and Jacob, who just
returned from Iraq with the 39th. Her parents are Philip and Mary
Phillips of Poyen, AR.
"I do not have any formal training in the art world. My dad
has told people as far back as I can remember that I simply have
a God given talent, for which I am thankful."
Artist Interpretation:
"I chose to do a design that I felt would reflect the cultural tastes
and interests of Hot Springs. The Buckstaff Bathhouse with its
history was decided upon because it is easily recognized by anyone
familiar with Hot Springs.
"I wanted to do a design that would be
considered a souvenir from the area by whomever purchased
it."
