Betsy attended Savannah College of Art and Design for two years, and graduated from Memphis College of Art with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree. During her Memphis College of Art tenure, Brackin helped to open the Plantation Gallery in Horseshoe Lake, Arkansas.

Betsy has won several awards from the Delta Artist Society, has received a national award from the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization, and has had her work chosen to hang in the White House.

She has painted murals for the Memphis Public Library, Fidelity National Bank and the Colleton River Development project. Betsy presently has a sixty-foot long mural of an 1800's plantation landscape hanging at the Pete Dye Golf Course in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Artist Interpretation: "Living in the Arkansas Delta, I have grown accustomed to a few things. Serene sunsets setting on the lake, fields full of crops farmed by local farmers, and landscapes that God must have been showing off when He created. I draw inspiration from all of these sources."
