Artist Bio: Marie
was born and raised in Hot Springs, except for three years in grade
school when she lived in Little Rock. She traveled extensively with
her thoroughbred trainer husband for eight years and created her
horse paintings.
She began commissioned work of still lifes and
portraits in the 70's in Tampa. After an eclectic work and travel
history for 30 years, she returned to Hot Springs where her creative
artistic talents are put to work. She began painting flowerpots
- each one a "work of art" - using various mediums, decoupage,
glue etc.
Artist Interpretation:
"I saw the Adirondack chair competition in the newspaper and something just
clicked. I always loved chairs. I have my chair from when
I was four years old! I took on the challenge to use the
paints and glues that I use in designing my flowerpots. I
could go much larger in my vision and design and really stretch
my abilities to the max and see what happens.
I am looking
forward to the opportunity to create my Adirondack chair as a new venue for my artistic heart!"
